A union representing Starbucks employees began a week-long strike last Friday to protest alleged unfair labor practices by the Seattle-based coffee behemoth.

Starbucks Workers United alleged earlier this month that Starbucks would not permit its employees to display Pride decorations or displays in its stores.

Which it termed a "anti-union campaign designed to intimidate workers and make them feel unwelcome at their workplace."

Starbucks Workers United reported that their ongoing "Strike With Pride" protest shut down 21 Starbucks locations, including the Reserve Roastery in Seattle, over the weekend.

The strike will continue through this coming Friday, and the union claims that more than 150 Starbucks locations will be affected.

Moe Mills, a Starbucks shift supervisor from Missouri, stated, "Starbucks is frightened of the power their gay partners hold, and they should be."

Starbucks has denied removing any Pride-themed merchandise or decorations from its retail locations.

Starbucks has also lodged two complaints with the National Labor Relations Board against Starbucks Workers United, both alleging false and misleading claims.
